A note from our founder

Giving Back Through Mentorship

Giving back is an important part of who I am as a leader and business owner. I believe that success is not only measured by what I accomplish in my own business, but also by how I use my knowledge and experience to help others grow. This belief is one of the reasons I make it a priority to mentor other bookkeepers.

Bookkeeping can be challenging, especially for professionals who are just beginning to build their businesses, develop confidence in their abilities, or navigate complex client situations. Through mentorship, I am able to share lessons I have learned from my own experiences, provide guidance, answer questions, and encourage other bookkeepers as they develop both professionally and personally. I want others to benefit from the knowledge I have gained and, when possible, avoid some of the challenges that come with learning everything on their own.

Giving back also makes me a better leader. Mentoring others requires me to listen, reflect on my own practices, explain why I make certain decisions, and remain open to different perspectives. The conversations I have with other bookkeepers often challenge me to continue learning and evaluating how I can improve my own business.

How we show up

Trust is the foundation of the work.

Mentoring also reflects the values I strive to demonstrate through Wayside Bookkeeping Services. I encourage other bookkeepers to value integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical decision-making. Technical knowledge is important, but I believe the way we serve our clients and conduct ourselves is equally important. Our clients trust us with some of the most sensitive and important information in their businesses, and that trust carries a significant responsibility.

01

Integrity

Doing the right thing, especially when no one is watching.

02

Accuracy

Treating every detail with the care our clients deserve.

03

Confidentiality

Protecting the sensitive information entrusted to us.

04

Professionalism

Showing up with clarity, respect, and consistency.

Beyond our own success

Knowledge grows when it’s shared.

Ultimately, I believe leadership includes creating opportunities for others to succeed. I want my impact to extend beyond the clients and businesses I directly serve. By mentoring other bookkeepers, I can help strengthen our profession, encourage ethical business practices, and contribute to the success of other professionals who will, in turn, make a positive difference for the businesses and communities they serve.

For me, giving back is not separate from leadership—it is an essential part of it.

The Ripple Effect

When we share what we know and help others succeed, we create an impact that reaches far beyond our own individual success.
